Perlaro operates the Perlaro website and services (the "Service") from Ontario, Canada. This Privacy Policy explains how Perlaro ("we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit our marketing site, contact us, create or manage an account, or publish a salon website through the Service.
We handle personal information under applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies. This Policy describes our practices; it is not a certification of legal compliance.
1. Personal information we collect
Account and authentication information
We collect the account details you provide, such as your name, email address, optional phone number, and authentication information. Password authentication is provided by Supabase; Perlaro does not store your password in readable form.
Salon and website content
We collect the business information and content you choose to provide, including your salon name, contact details, location, hours, services and prices, team profiles, website copy, logos, and uploaded images. Content you publish becomes publicly available on your salon website. Draft content is not intended for public display.
Billing information
Stripe processes subscription payments. We receive limited information needed to manage your subscription, such as customer and subscription identifiers, plan status, billing period dates, and payment status. We do not store full payment-card numbers.
Support and contact information
If you contact us, we collect your name, email address, message, and related correspondence so we can respond and provide support. Sending a support request does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Technical and security information
We and our infrastructure providers may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, diagnostic data, and error reports. We use this information to deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, including preventing abuse of authentication and contact forms.
2. Why we use personal information
- Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Service
- Create accounts and authenticate users
- Build, preview, publish, and host salon websites at the owner's direction
- Process subscriptions and keep billing access in sync
- Send necessary account, security, billing, and service communications
- Respond to contact-form messages and support requests
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
We limit collection and use to purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances. We do not sell personal information or use contact-form submissions as marketing consent.
Where consent is required, we seek consent appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the context. You may withdraw consent for optional processing by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Some information is necessary to provide an account, subscription, or published website.
3. Service providers and disclosures
We disclose information to service providers only as reasonably necessary to operate the Service. Current providers represented in the application include:
- Supabase for authentication, database services, and file storage
- Stripe for subscription billing and payment processing
- Resend for account, billing, and support email delivery
- Sentry for error monitoring and performance diagnostics when enabled
- Cloudflare and Vercel for hosting, delivery, and related infrastructure where configured
These providers process information under their own service terms and may process it in countries outside Canada. We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or to protect the rights and safety of Perlaro, our users, or others. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own advertising.
4. Public salon websites and external links
Information an owner publishes, such as salon contact details, services, staff profiles, photos, and external booking links, is public and may be indexed by search engines. An external booking link is operated by the salon's chosen provider, not by Perlaro. That provider's privacy practices apply after a visitor follows the link.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Perlaro uses cookies and similar storage that are necessary for authentication, session security, and core application functions. The current application does not include an advertising network or cross-site advertising cookies. If our use of optional analytics or cookies materially changes, we will update this Policy and provide any notice or choice required by law.
6. Retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing an active account, responding to support, maintaining security and business records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal, tax, or billing obligations. Retention periods vary by record type and provider. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
7. Safeguards
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and database row-level security. No internet service or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
8. Access, correction, and deletion requests
You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable exceptions. You may update many salon details in the dashboard. To request access, correction, account deletion, or information about our handling practices, email perlarosupport@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
9. Questions and complaints
Perlaro is responsible for personal information under its control. Questions or complaints about privacy practices can be sent to our privacy contact at perlarosupport@gmail.com. We will review and respond to privacy concerns within a reasonable period.
10. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for people operating businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through account creation.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or our practices change. We will post the updated Policy and revise the date above. Where a change is material, we will provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate or required by law.
